EPW - Tiffany & Co, New York, Swiss made, 53mm, heavy 18K gold OF original case with hidden hinges, "F A J" initials to rear, "Frederick Allen Johnson from his brothers, July 16th 1893." engraved inside rear, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement with counterpoise, likely 20J, snail-cam regulator, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#17156 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 78.9 dwt (122.6 g). An elegant high grade piece that we believe is likely a product of Tiffany's watch factory in Geneva.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some typical mild micro-fine scratches, few small spots to plate surface; dial with very light hl from 12 to center, pinpoint surface nick outside minute chapter near 12; excellent hands, hour with finish loss to its spade; case shows very light wear, shallow dent to band at 9, nick to perimeter of bezel and adjacent edge of band near 10, nick to band at 6:30, good engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows medium wear with small ridge break; good glass crystal.
